Diary 7/25



Never did prune these back in Spring. They don't seem to mind, blooming above my head.

  1. Sigh... I don't see any blackspot or holes made by voracious Japanese beetles. Growing roses in the Midwest is a real challenge, even the "easy" shrub roses are beloved by the beetles.

  2. I remember Japanese Beetles from Washington D.C. They were indeed a force to be reckoned with. I wonder if Pyganic would even work on their hard shells. We have black spot in Spring, but then the bushes form new leaves and all is well.
